Toranaga

The classic line up of Toranaga (Andy Mitchell, Steve todd, Andy Burton, Mark Duffy) was completed in March 1988 when vocalist Mark Duffy joined the band after replying to an ad in Kerrang magazine. The band had already secured a record deal with Peaceville Records at that time and vocalist Mark Duffy suggested getting Kev Ridley to produce the album, having previously worked with him on his last band ’Millennium’. The songs were yet to be completed and Duffy added the lyrics to the massive riffs of their debut ’Bastard Ballads’.

Evisorax

In this two-tier death metal underground we've inherited through the ill-advised, drunken fumble of Cryptopsy against the MySpace server, lines are quickly being drawn between the 'true' and the 'false', the real metallers with their XXL and cargo pants and the clueless chancers with their shrunken grind t-shirts and obstructive sweeps. Rare is the band who will combine the furious, pummelling immediacy of bands like Suicide Silence, All Out War and See You Next Tuesday with the songwriting, values and guaranteed longevity of Napalm Death, Origin and Nasum.

Oysterband

Oysterband (or The Oyster Band, as it used to be) are one of the few outfits still burning with the fire of punk, but managing to combine it with the ideals and knowledge of English folk music - a balancing act they've made into a fine art over the years. And they have deep roots in the U.K. folk scene, emerging from both the Whitstable Oyster Co. Ceilidh Band, which formed in 1975, and Fiddler's Dram, a group put together in 1973 by Dave Arbus, whose fiddle work had graced releases by East of Eden and The Who.
